Located in St James’s, this celebrated brasserie pays homage to the timeless charm of classic French dining — think wooden chairs, red banquettes, and intricate flooring — but step inside and you’ll encounter an unexpected twist. The elegant space draws design inspiration from a postmodern Barcelona cement factory, blending concrete-effect ceilings with muted pink walls, cream leather banquettes, and a striking clock reminiscent of 1970s wristwatch design.
In the kitchen, MasterChef: The Professionals finalist Matthew Ryle curates a menu rooted in French brasserie tradition, punctuated by playful modern touches. Expect seldom-seen classics such as oeuf en gelée and ox tongue brochettes, alongside exquisite pastries crafted by Jérémy Prakhin — the pâté en croûte is pure Parisian perfection.
Founded in 2020 by François O’Neill, Ed Wyand, and Matthew Ryle, Maison François is where grand French heritage meets contemporary flair. Open from morning until midnight, the day begins with breads and pastries from its in-house bakery, while diners can watch the culinary team at work behind the floating pass from breakfast through to last orders.
